For those of us who have been down this road before, welcome back to a new school year. For those who are new to our school community, welcome! On July 1, 2010, I started my two-year term as President of the Menands Union Free School Parent Teacher Association, better known as the Menands PTA. Holding this office is an honor and I could not be more excited. I bring new ideas and a goal-oriented energy, which I hope will ignite your passion for the PTA and all this association and its resources can bring to our students and our community on a local, state,and national level.

The Membership meeting on June 8 was the annual business meeting of our association. At this meeting the PTA's fiscal budget for the 2010-2011 school year was adopted and new officers were elected. Our President is Lisa Harris-Eglin, Juliet VanKampen the Recording Secretary and Laurie Fay the Second Vice President, they will all serve for two year terms. The other members of the team who are in the final year of their terms are Melissa Mitchell, First Vice President, Vicki Wroble, Corresponding Secretary and Kathy Kelley was appointed to fill out the rest of the Treasures term.
