General Membership Meeting Minutes

Lisa
Neuman, President, called the meeting to order and read, “Thanksgiving Grace”

MOTION
#1:  to accept, as amended, the
minutes of the 10/15/09 general membership meeting made by Mrs. Price and
seconded by Mrs. Harris.  Motion
passed.

Treasurer’s
report – no questions or comments

Old
Business

Bon-Ton
– not very many coupons sold

Project
Linus – 163 blankets were made – event was a great success

Scholastic
Book Fair – older kids had fun helping younger kids make their wish lists

Healthy
Family Fun – about 70 participants – very fun night

New
Business

-      
Missoula
Theater – thanks to the Howard family for accommodating the Missoula people at
their home.  The PTA executive
committee decided to give to the Howards a Price Chopper gift card to help with
the expenses of lodging the Missoula staff and a Regal gift card and movie
tickets as a thank you for their generosity.

-      
Monday
night – only about 12 kids will be kept for play rehearsal, so the cost of
pizza for this group will be less than expected

-      
Volunteers
– may need more volunteers to supervise kids during rehearsals.

The
Cooperative Extension Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving Cooking program was  presented by Tarasha McKoy.  This was very interesting and
informative.  Thank you Tarasha.

Need
movie tickets – discussion about the increased cost of Regal movie tickets and
whether the PTA should increase its cost for the tickets.  It was decided to sell them for $7.00
each.  Brian indicated that we do
not need a motion because the budget amount for purchasing Regal tickets is in
the approved budget.

Other
news – none

Next
meeting is Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.

meeting; motion passed.
