the February 3, 2010 PTA General Membership Meeting

Lisa Neuman welcomed and read “He Knows No Winter,”

MOTION #1 – to accept the minutes of the 1/7/10 general
membership meeting made by Catherine Mattice and seconded by Jeff Masline.  Motion passed.

No Treasurer’s Report – too early in the month for bank statement

Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s held– great success; so many
helpers; great fun watching the kids. 
Special thanks to Aileen Nichol for making the name tags – nice touch!

About $766 made

50/50 made $107; winner donated back $20.

Next year – we should pick a date now for next
year.  Tracy Trainor will work on
next year.

Spaghetti Dinner

Discussion about raffle – kids really look forward to
the small raffle at the Spaghetti Dinner each year; many hang out until the end
waiting for raffle –inexpensive kid prize are great; kinds of thing people may
have around the house to donate – we should hold the raffle this year; Tarasha
is willing to help; Melissa Mitchell will organize; Lorenz will send memo to
teachers asking for donations.

Other kids entertainment (last two year dance in
library, one year magician) – unknown at this time

Communications and Ticket Sales?? – no report – ask

Nominating Committee – PTA officer positions that will be
open for next year are President, 2^nd VP and Recording
Secretary.  Committee is supposed
to be formed in February to identify nominees for the listed positions.

Nominating Cmte volunteers – Mrs. Harris, Mrs. McCoy, Mrs.
Fay

Tools for Schools – Melissa Mitchell announced that we have
32,000 + points; have until 2/11/10 to earn additional

Garage Sale, Melissa Mitchell, chair

Melissa spoke with someone from Southgate and received
good information

Thursday, 4/29 is ½ day of school – drop off items

Friday, 4/30 is set-up

Bethany Church’s sale is same day – ask to advertise
together

Suggestions – Early Bird 8 am to 9 am – charge $2.00
admission

Food – need donations to sell during sale

Should we have 50/50?

Field Day T-Shirts - Coordinator Needed – Jim Mitchell will
coordinate the t-shirts.

Aileen N. has paperwork to solicit donations

Donations needed = about $1,200 – many past sponsors
are not longer interested/available

KEYBANK may be interested in sponsoring us this year

Literacy Night

Story Crafters – not sure if they can make it
