A NEWS DASH OF THE MENANDS PTA

On Thursday,
December 8^th the PTA sponsored the first ever Pancake Dinner.  The dinner was a huge success.  Everyone had an absolutely wonderful
time.  Over 170 pancake dinners
were served.  We appreciate
everyone’s patience and appetite.  This
event and events like it would NOT be possible without the help of so many
people.  The PTA would like to
thank the following for their generous support in making this such a successful
event.

First of all,
Susan Supliski was pivotal in making this event possible.  Susan, single handedly, received
generous contributions from many local vendors.  She took care of getting all the food, desserts, paper
products, drinks and basket raffle items purchased or donated and brought to
the school by 2:30 on the afternoon of this wonderful event.

We need to
thank the following for all their help in cooking and serving the food:  Kathy Kelley, Lorenz Herrmann, Christina
Pustay, Stefan Kalogridis, Mrs. Schroeder, Tim & Tyler Brennan, & Susan
Supliski.  We need to thank Mrs.
Keppler and Ms. Collier for serving all the drinks at the dinner.  They were also there earlier helping
with the set up.  We need to thank
Mrs. Beach and Juliet Van Kampen for selling all the tickets at the door.  They were also there earlier with the
set up.  We would like to thank
Vicki Wrobel for handling the pre-sale of tickets and Vicki & Jen Wilson
for handling the selling of raffle & Kindle tickets at the event.  A special thanks to Mrs. Nicoll for
making sure all the tickets were brought to Vicki’s attention and then made
sure they were sent home with the children.

Also, a
special thanks to Evelyn Harris for her help in setting up, helping in the
kitchen, and doing whatever was asked of her.  She also made all the hats, gloves and beautiful blanket for
the raffle.

Another
special thanks needs to be given to Mrs. Testo for once again donating another
piece of her beautiful artwork to be a part of our raffle.

Colonie
Center School Bucks is ongoing.  It
does not end until June 2012. You
need to bring your ORIGINAL receipts to the Guest Services Desk (located on the
lower level of the mall between CVS and Glennpeter Jewelers) and we will
receive 1 School Buck Point for each dollar shown.  If you forget to do this on the day of your purchase, Vicki
Wrobel, Corresponding Secretary for the PTA will be more than happy to go to
Colonie Center each month with these receipts.  Just send them to school in an envelope marked:  Colonie Center School Bucks.  If you need your receipt back, please
indicate that and they will be sent back home with your children.
